Scope
This policy describes the current GoByMetro website at gobymetro.com. You can read maps and guides without an account. The site currently has no registration, comment, purchase or contact form.
Browsing and station searches
The site does not ask for your name, payment information or precise location. Station search text and line filters are handled in your browser's memory; the application does not submit them to a server or save a search history.
Language selection uses a link to the chosen language version; it is not saved in a cookie or local storage. Advertising is not currently enabled.
Optional Google Analytics
If you allow analytics, the public site loads Google Analytics 4 (G-L6T218XDYF) to measure page visits and use of the guides. Google may process page URLs, referring pages, device and browser information, approximate region and identifiers stored in first-party analytics cookies. We do not send station search text, account IDs, names or email addresses to Analytics.
Before you choose, or if you reject analytics, the Google tag is not loaded. You can change your choice through Cookie settings in the footer. Allowing analytics is optional; maps and guides work either way. Rejecting it after allowing it stops future collection and removes this site's analytics cookies; it does not automatically delete previously collected data.
We keep the consent choice and its expiry in browser local storage for 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days and may be renewed by Google on later visits. Analytics data retention follows the Google Analytics property's settings. Google may process information outside your country. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in this site's tag configuration.
Optional Microsoft Clarity
With the same analytics permission, the public site loads Microsoft Clarity (project ysxqb4lp5d) for heatmaps and session recordings. Microsoft may process page URLs, referrers, browser and device details, approximate location and interactions such as clicks and scrolling. Recordings reconstruct activity on this website; they do not record your camera or other applications. The station search input is explicitly masked, and we do not supply custom names, email addresses or account identifiers to Clarity.
Before a choice or after rejection, the Clarity tag is not loaded. Withdrawing permission also stops the running recorder and deletes the first-party _clck and _clsk cookies accessible to this site. Previously collected data is not automatically erased. The same footer Cookie settings controls Google Analytics and Clarity. Visitors who previously agreed to Google Analytics alone are asked again before Clarity runs.
Clarity can use first-party and Microsoft cookies to associate visits and sessions. Advertising storage consent is denied by this site. Microsoft may process data outside your country; retention follows Clarity’s service rules. Microsoft explains its data use, cookies and retention in the sources below.
Hosting and technical information
GoByMetro is hosted on Vercel. Serving pages and protecting the service may involve processing technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, request times and browser or device information. These records can be used for delivery, security and troubleshooting.
Hosting information may be processed through Vercel's global infrastructure. Its retention depends on the hosting service, settings and operational needs. Vercel describes its processing and safeguards in the documents linked below.
External websites
Links to transport operators, attractions and other sources lead to external websites. Their privacy policies apply after you open those sites. GoByMetro does not embed their maps. The analytics services described above are handled separately through your privacy choice.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change, we will update this policy to describe the services, purposes and choices involved. The revision date is shown at the top of this page.
